"Some people think that it's holding on that makes one strong; sometimes it's letting go."
- Eckhart Tolle
Emotion clutter is the blend of feelings which we do not want to carry with us, but consciously or subconsciously we do.
Feelings such as fear, anxiety, insecurity, regret, anger etc. This could be because of someone or self. And it hampers our peace & growth.
Just like the huge pile of clothes won’t magically disappear from the magic chair, you will eventually have to sort it out. Similarly, all that we constantly go through day in and day out, it won’t magically clear out. We have to consciously choose to declutter.
In this document, we share with you ways on how you can remove the clutter from your life. Be it relationships, or saying 'no' to friends, we share with you steps to make this an smooth journey, so you can live life with the people you love.
To help you get started on this journey instantly
Spend 5 mins daily morning with yourself and ask who & what is important for you NOW. This simple practice can help you set your priorities and a positive tone for the day, allowing you to focus on what genuinely matters in your life.
Identify areas in life where you feel stretched, thin, overwhelmed; things that don’t align with you. Start saying NO to these things. By setting these boundaries, you declutter and create emotional space for yourself, allowing you to focus on relationships and activities that trully matter.
Often, we know exactly who we love to spend time with, yet we hesitate when it's time to take that step and invite them for a meet. Reach out to those who uplift and inspire you, making an effort to nurture those relationships.
Over the last couple of years you may have have joined several groups to develop connections with friends, family, colleagues, hobbies, etc. Take a moment to evaluate these groups. If you find yourself in spaces that drain your energy or no longer align with your values/ life goals, it’s time to make an exit.
Remember how, as kids, we wholeheartedly dove into activities that brought us joy—like painting, dancing, or playing pretend? As adults, we often shy away from our favourite activities due to fear of judgment. Give yourself the permission to embrace joy. Allow yourself to indulge in one such activity.
